New Prints Sneak Peek
I just finished some new art prints I have been working on for SDCC and wanted to give you all a sneak peek. It’s been years since I created a new print, so this is long overdue. I’m also working on a new shirt design, which I’ll share with you all soon. keep your eyes peeled in the next issue for the full reveal!
Metal Hurlant 2025
Last year, the legendary French comics anthology Métal Hurlant invited me to contribute a short comic. The magazine was founded by Moebius and Philippe Druillet in the ’70s, and has featured some of the best comic artists of all time. So of course, I gleefully said yes.
My year got unexpectedly hectic so I brought in JR Hughto (my collaborator on That Distant Fire) to help—and boy did he deliver a thrilling script! I can’t share much without spoiling key plot twists, but what I can tell you is that the densely packed 5 page comic is titled Honeymoon Suite.
The French edition will be released this November and I’m hoping for an English release as well. For now, here are two teaser images I can actually show you.
I went through extensive style studies to figure out how I was going to make this thing. The first image above is a color study using marker and watercolor. The Image below is the first half of page one, which I ended up creating with Diamine colored Inks and Copic markers. I originally planned to use the markers more but something felt off when I started the final and ended up switching to inks. Check it out.
I'm really happy with the result—what you see here is nearly identical to the real page, with minimal Photoshop used. My dream of less time in front of a screen is finally coming true.
